Hello all,

In March, Morgan hosted the Maryland auditions for the National Association of Schools of Singing (NATS).  Our students performed well: Kierra Evans, Hakeem Henderson, Deijah Knight, and Jouelle Roberson and Darrin Scott all placed 1st place in their respective categories. Kameron Ralls placed 2nd.  Lynnea McCray did not place, however scored high enough to advance to the Regionals.

On March 22 & 23,  the Regional auditions were held at Towson State University.  Jouelle Roberson won in her category (Advanced College, Classical Women) and advanced to the national finals. Deijah Knight won in her category (Lower College, Classical Women) but did not advance to the national finals.

Additionally, in March, during the Charlotte W. Holloman Vocal Competition in the DC chapter of the National Association of Negro Musicians (NANM): Morgan alumnus  Christian Simmons advanced to the regional finals, and Morgan grad student Jouelle Roberson placed 2nd.   NANM, Baltimore Chapter: Winner, Alexandria Crichlow has advanced to the regional finals, second place, Hakeem Henderson.

Morgan’s Fine and Performing Arts Department continues to produce top-notched voices. Congratulations to all of the students and their teachers!
