Hello all,
On
Friday, April 12, 2019, Morgan’s Fine and Performing Arts Department
hosted a Jazz Symposium on music of Duke Ellington. The panelists were
John Lamkin, Leroy Barton, and Charles Funn. They shared many profound
comments on the significance of Duke Ellington as an innovator in Music
History. All who attended, gained a greater appreciation of the music
of Duke Ellington.
This
symposium was a great precursor to our Cyrus Chestnut Piano Recital
featuring music of Duke Ellington on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 4 PM at
the Murphy Fine Arts Center.
