John Malveaux: 'Soprano Latonia Moore will make her Met debut as Verdi’s Aida in the March 3 matinee performance.'

“Moore was a winner of the Met’s National Council Auditions in 2000. She sang Aida last season at the Royal Opera, Covent Garden and the Hamburg State Opera. In recent seasons, she has sung Lucrezia in Verdi’s I Due Foscari at the Teatro Verdi in Trieste and the Bilbao Opera; the title role in Floyd’s Susannah and Micaëla in Bizet’s Carmen at the Bilbao Opera; the title role in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly and Amelia in Verdi’s Un Ballo in Maschera at Hamburg State Opera; Desdemona in Verdi’s Otello at Charlotte Opera; and Liù in Puccini’s Turandot at the Royal Opera, Covent Garden.”

“Latonia Moore's performance will be broadcast live over the Toll Brothers-Metropolitan Opera International Radio Network and on Metropolitan Opera Radio on Sirius XM.”
