Averett University's annual Julian and Elnora Light Memorial Concert Series will feature a performance by pianist William Chapman Nyaho at 7:30 p.m. March 13 in Pritchett Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.

Chapman Nyaho is considered one of the foremost authorities on African-influenced piano music. He has released two solo albums – "SENKU: Piano Music by Composers of African Descent" and "ASA: Piano Music by Composers of African Descent" and compiled and edited a five-volume graded anthology "Piano Music of Africa and the African Diaspora."

In addition to touring the U.S., Chapman Nyaho's performances have taken him to Europe, Africa, Asia and the Caribbean. He has performed as a soloist with various orchestras including the Moscow Chamber Orchestra and the San Francisco Chamber Orchestra.
