California Lutheran University Choir Sings 'Nocturne' of Adolphus C. Hailstork on Spring Tour

[Adolphus C. Hailstork]

Earlier on March 2, 2012 AfriClassical posted: “California Lutheran University Choir Spring Tour Includes Music of Adolphus C.Hailstork.” Among the composers whose works are said to be on the program of the Spring Tour is Adolphus C. Hailstork (b. 1941), who is featured at AfriClassical.com.  Prof. Wyant Morton is Chair of the Music Department of California Lutheran University and Director of the CLU Choir.

AfriClassical asked him for the title of the Adolphus Hailstork composition to be sung by the CLU Choir, and he graciously replied that it was Nocturne. Nocturne is six minutes long and is part of Five Short Choral Works, according to Theodore Presser, the composer's publisher. The company's website indicates the larger composition was commissioned by Willard Frank for the Unitarian Church of Norfolk, Virginia; the text is from Jim Curtis.
