Phyllis Fleming is a violinist and violin instructor in the Washington, D.C. area.  She writes:

Hi Bill,

I continue to play with the St. Columba Orchestra. Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings and are compatible with my teaching schedule.

On Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the 11:15am service, I will perform the Concerto in D minor for Two Violins by J.S. Bach, with one of my students, Yuri Popov (age 8). He started lessons with me when he was only 3-1/2. His parents are accomplished musicians, Ralitza Patcheva-piano and Vasily Popov-cello. Both are fellow colleagues at the Levine School of Music. Vasily will be guest-conductor of the St. Columba Orchestra, as we play the first two movements for the prelude (11:00am) and the last movement for the postlude, following the service.

Thanks again for your continued dedication to AfriClassical!

Phyllis

Yes! it is the same. His dad is cellist for the NCE. Another colleague and teacher at Levine is violinist for the NCE, Jorge Orozco. Thanks so much for the listing!  --  Phyllis

PS. I was just able to open the photo. Yuri performed at an NCE concert on December 14th in Rosslyn, Virginia with over a dozen other youngsters. He is Russian-Bulgarian. Here is a photo of Yuri, his mom, dad, younger brother Vladimir ("Vladi") and paternal grandmother, Elena (who teaches piano in St. Petersburg).

PPS. My photo was taken on Christmas Eve  2014 at St. Columba's (Northwest Washington, DC). We had just performed a work that was new to us--a Concerto in E minor for Three Violins and Strings by Telemann. Sara Evans, Peter Clamp and I played the solo violin parts.  [Phyllis Fleming]
