2015 is already off to an exciting start!  I have very much enjoyed rehearsing and performing  the poignant and profound Messaien Quartet for the End of Time, first in Jacksonville, FL and now here in Atlanta with my Ritz Chamber Players colleagues.  I am also very excited to have the opportunity to go back to my alma mater, the Eastman School of Music, to teach a masterclass next week!  My performance videos of the Barber Violin Concerto with Keith Lockhart at the Brevard Music Festival were temporarily removed due to a minor glitch.  The videos have now been reposted on You Tube and are available to watch here.  Thank you for all you do!
Cheers,
Kelly

1) Thanks as always Bill!  All Best, Kelly  [Kelly Hall-Tompkins]

2) Hi Bill,  Thanks for the message. Messaien’s ‘Quartet for the End of Time’ is an undoubted masterpiece and have no doubt that tonight’s performance at the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center will be a wonderful event. However, I also note that the event also includes Dr Hailstork’s ‘American Landscape No 2 for Violin and ‘Cello’. Please highlight this because some of your reders may not notice that on the blog, especially if they are looking at a very small screen such as their smartphone!

However, I wish all in Ritz, great success tonight and still hold hope that Hailstork’s music will get heard over this side of the Atlantic.  Kind regards, Mike
[Michael S. Wright]

3) AfriClassical's own January 23, 2015 post on the concert was entitled:
"Ritz Chamber Players Sat., Jan. 24, 2015, 8 PM Ties That Bind: From Swastika to Jim Crow; Adolphus Hailstork: American Landscape No. 2 for Violin & Cello"

4) Hi Mike, Yes it's a wonderful work that we were pleased to include on this program!  If you know of any avenues, we would be happy to play it on your side of the pond!  Cheers, Kelly  [Kelly Hall-Tompkins]
