The Battle of New Orleans
Givonna Joseph writes:
As New Orleans Celebrates the Bicentennial of the Battle of New Orleans, members
of OperaCréole return to the site of the French Opera House in New
Orleans to sing and raise a glass to the heroic Creole battalions of
free men of color who were instrumental in winning the battle in 1815.
We will begin with a patriotic salute, then include some operatic selections, art songs, and a litle fun.

Thank you!!! I
discovered that two of the free men in the 1st battalion have one of my
ancestral names: Auguste. I am researching them, of course!
