“Sankusem was founded in Ghana, West Africa, in 2008. Sankusem’s mission is to promote the composition, choreography, performance and scholarship of contemporary Art (classical) music and dance that significantly draws or derives from folk traditions of the tribal groups of Africa. These traditions include solo or ensemble drumming and dance pieces, instrumental and vocal music, rituals, and games.”
