Chicago Sinfonietta Hosts Harlem Quartet & John McLaughlin Williams, Guest Conductor, May 16 & 17

Today AfriClassical heard from the Grammy Award-winning Conductor John McLaughlin Williams about a concert program which features Delights and Dances, by the African American composer Michael Abels. The work was commissioned for the 10th Anniversary of the Sphinx Competition, held in 2007: “Just wanted to let you know that I'll be in Chicago this week and part of next with the Chicago Sinfonietta. You can see the details here. Harlem Quartet are the soloists.
