[Music of the Haitian Masters; Jean E. Saint-Eloi, MIDI guitar; IFA Music Records 256 (1999)(41:39)]
Ludovic Lamothe (1882-1953) was sometimes called “A Black Chopin”. He and three other Haitian classical composers are profiled at AfriClassical.com and are represented by their works on the CD
Music of the Haitian Masters, Vol. 1; Jean E. Saint-Eloi, MIDI guitar; IFA Music Records 256 (1999) (41:39). The others are Justin Elie (1883-1931); Occide Jeanty (1860-1936) and Solon Verret. All of the music was composed for piano, but it sounds entirely at home as performed here by Jean E. Saint-Eloi on MIDI guitar. The CD remains in print and can be purchased at websites including CDBaby.com At least two download sites now sell individual tracks from the CD, http://bitmunk.com/view/media/6277178 and http://www.tradebit.com/filedetail.php/553681-Music-Classical
