a high school teen in 2012, violinist Annelle Kazumi Gregory was a soloist during
the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation Concert
co-presented by MusicUNTOLD and KUSC classical radio. Violinist Sanford Allen, first
African American violinist hired by the New York Philharmonic as a regular member also performed on
the program. Annelle subsequently attended USC Thornton School of Music, studied
under Glenn Dicterow (retired concert master of the New York Philharmonic
