the American Museum of Natural History Presents Kwanzaa 2018
Saturday, December 29, Noon–5 pm
Join
us for the Museum’s 35th annual Kwanzaa event, a celebration of
African-American heritage that is rooted in seven principles known as Nguzo Saba, which promote unity, culture, and community development. Black Comics Collective will do a live drawing inspired by the seven principles. Oyu Oro will
performs music and dance from Afro-Cuban traditions. The festival also
features a local artisan marketplace. Kwanzaa is hosted by Linda H. Humes, scholar and storyteller.
