The
friendship between Afro-British composer and conductor, Samuel
Coleridge-Taylor and African-American poet, Paul Laurence Dunbar
resulted in musical works that reflect the black experience around the
world. This recital will present Coleridge-Taylor's settings of Seven African Romances and highlights from his opera Dream Lovers.

Hood (baritone), Central State University faculty Kathleen Allen
(soprano), and the New River Ensemble (Martha Hyde, Lisa
Liske-Doorandish, and Brendan Cooney.)
