Chicago Modern Orchestra Project's Wednesday night January 22, 2014 concert celebrating the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was a
tremendous success and performed before a packed house, despite the inclement
weather.
KUDOS to Renee Baker, founder/conductor and the
Orchestra; Robert Fisher's Sherwood Park String Players; The Kenwood
Academy String Ensemble; The Keith Hampton Singers and The Sinai Ensemble;
Ernest Dawkins, saxophone; AACM-Great Black Music Ensemble, Mwata Bowden, music
director and saxophone,
Renee Baker, conductor and CMOP extended special thanks to The Chicago
Park District and the Advisory Council of South Shore Cultural Center, and to
Advisory Council members Barbara Taylor, Geri Bethel, Mary Bruno, Tanine
Murdock and Stephanie Roddy who came out to help with audience assistance
and enjoy the concert.
