The 2014 Annual ASALH Convention will be held September 24-28, 2014 in Memphis, TN.  

The Association for the Study of African American Life & History (ASALH) is the world's oldest learned society devoted to Black life, history and culture. Founded 99 years ago by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, the recognized father of Black History ASALH will host our annual convention in Memphis, TN September 24-September 28, 2014 at the Peabody Hotel.   

ASALH has set the annual Black History theme which is "Civil Rights in America."  Our 1000 conventioneers will explore the topic with events that will appeal to all who appreciate the contributions of African Americans.  We need your help and expertise to make this annual convention in Memphis one of the best ever.

Whenever ASALH comes into town to begin pulling together the segments of our conference, we seek out the help and support of leaders in the community.  Who knows better whom to contact for various services and skills that we need to help make the convention a success than you? 

Please encourage community and corporate leaders to join us for this exciting first meeting. We need the support of all local organizations to make certain that our conventioneers see the very best that Memphis has to offer. Memphis is a perfect place for ASALH to commemorate "Civil Rights In America."
