CHESAPEAKE
The Norfolk County Historical Society of Chesapeake will host the
unveiling of a historical marker at 10 a.m. May 2, which honors Justin
Holland (1819-1887).
Born in Norfolk County, Holland was a son of free black parents. He
was a professional musician, composer, guitarist and teacher. He was
also a Mason and worked toward securing equal rights for African
Americans.
The ceremony will be held at the marker location on George Washington
