Mssng Lnks and Hibernian Hall, in association with the Community Music Center of Boston, present William Grant Still's opera A Bayou Legend during a 3-day performance series May 10-12th.  
Still's A Bayou Legend was the first production of an opera by a man of color to be nationally televised (with libretto by Verna Arvey).  It tells the tale of a man in the Mississippi Bayou who falls in love with a spirit.

Performance times:

Friday, May 10th: 8 PM
Saturday, May 11th: 8 PM
Sunday, May 12th: 3 PM

There is no admission for this event, but all freewill donations will be accepted.

The recent release of Still's Chamber Music on Folks and Fantasies, the inaugural recording of the William Grant Still Performing Arts Society, Directed by Everett N. Jones III, is one of the events to celebrate on the anniversary of the composer's birth May 11, 1895.  Another is the 3-day performance this weekend  of William Grant Still's opera A Bayou Legend.
