“The 19th Century brought to light this extraordinary musician, who became the first African-American to make an important contribution to the guitar (a key instrument in rock music). His name was Justin Holland. In addition to being a great guitarist, Holland had other musical gifts.

Though Holland had brought pure artistic beauty to the guitar, and helped encouraged people of all races to pick one up, one man would continue the mantra that Holland started one century later. Jimi Hendrix is arguably the most famous guitar player ever. "
