John Malveaux: Dr. Michael Cooper shares: One of the joys of having published unheard music by Florence Price is seeing and hearing that music come to life

John Malveaux of MusicUNTOLD.com writes:

Dr. Michael Cooper shares the following: FIRST OF THE YEAR! One of the joys of having published a bunch of editions of previously unheard music by Florence Price is seeing and hearing that music come to life rather than just sitting in archives. This morning I happened upon an excellent performance from this past November of Price's Violin Fantasy No. 1 in G Minor (1933), which I edited and published with G. Schirmer & Associated Music Publishers last spring, by Dawn Posey and Jack Kuas part of the Virtual Resonance Chamber Series (Pittsburgh). It's a great rendition of an unjustly marginalized piece, and you should check it out! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zqnpm2AoFb4&fbclid=IwAR24laO0WaYOiYvDLa_XWvdWpZe9CnoAFtje_8cO8LwymRgKcGIOkYgHuXA
