John McLaughlin Williams writes:
To be fair, no one has written anything referencing Maestro Chen's race,
pejorative or otherwise. What has been written to date about the
lamentable situation at the Chicago Sinfonietta is focused solely upon
Sinfonietta's original mission and the abandonment of it by its current
management. Their intent to misrepresent Florence Price's Symphony is
merely symptomatic of Sinfonietta management's ongoing intent to
jettison that which Paul Freeman practically bled to establish. That it
also amounts to the sullying of Florence Price's posthumous reputation
and an insult to a legacy that has long labored for general recognition
is something that we should continue to protest in unison.
