Art of Élan
We're
thrilled to announce our 7th season of innovative concerts in San
Diego. Following our highly successful 6th season, which saw record
audiences and ticket sales at The San Diego Museum of Art, along with
debut concerts at Lux Art Institute in Encinitas, Luce Loft space in
downtown San Diego, and the Malcolm X Library in Emerald
Hills/Valencia Park, we are excited to program a season of
"Reflections," presenting four concerts at The San Diego
Museum of Art that create a musical lens through which to explore
what it means to be human.

REFLECTIONS: on youth
7PM on October 15th, 2013
Jonathan Swift wrote that, "No wise men ever wished to be younger," yet the desire for youthfulness remains an eternal obsession. Our Season 7 opening concert features Mendelssohn's lively String Quartet No.2 (written when he was just 18 years old) as well as The Juliet Letters by Elvis Costello (a series of imaginary letters to a young Juliet, written for string quartet and voice). This program reveals the impetuous, dramatic and often highly emotional nature of youth.
Help us continue to provide FREE community concerts in San Diego!!
For those of you who were at our
May concert at the Malcolm X Library in Emerald Hills/Valencia Park,
you already know how passionate we are about bringing our innovative
concerts to the many diverse communities of San Diego.
Art of Élan intends to offer
additional FREE community events this season, and with the generosity
of long-time supporter Carol Stensrud Lazier, we are thrilled to
announce a challenge grant that can help make these concerts
happen.
Any gift to Art of Élan, made between now and
December 31st, 2013, will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $1500.
