D.C.'s hometown opera star Denyce Graves will join the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra this Sunday for their 50th anniversary gala celebration. Graves is no stranger to audiences in the D.C. area and most recently sang for the opening festival of the 2012 Cherry Blosson Festival. For her appearance with the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra, Ms. Grav's will sing the Wessendock Lieder by Richard Wagner and Jules Massenet's 'Il est doux, il est bon' from Herodiade.”

“Founded in 1962, the Annapolis Symphony Orchestra is the largest performing arts organization in Anne Anundel County, Maryland. Music director José-Luis Novo within a few years has already been credited with instilling a renewed sense of zeal and artistic fervor to the orchestra.”
