Dr. Michael Cooper shared the following: Here's a review from The Pittsburgh Courier (6 May 1939) of the fourth concert of the Allied Arts Academy, which Bonds founded and led for several years between her graduation with the Master's degree in music and her move to New York: "What becomes of the child prodigies? Do they make good when put to a real test where constant study is required?
In 1936, Margaret Bonds founded the Allied Arts Academy, an institution for talented African American children in Chicago.
