The Chineke Foundation has just released a video of violinist Randall Goosby (who just recently signed a deal with Decca records) performing a stellar performance of Beethoven's Violin Sonata no. 9 - the 'Bridgetower' sonata with pianist Zhu Wang.
Better known as the
Kreutzer Sonata after the violinist Rodolphe Kreutzer,
research has shown that Beethoven originally wrote the work
for the black violinist and friend of Beethoven George
Bridgetower, but later renamed it after Kreutzer.
