You and your readers will be
interested to know that on Tuesday Dec. 15 on my classical music program
on WHPK-FM Chicago I will be broadcasting a recent interview I did with
the exciting new upcoming Canadian pianist Luke Welch.
Welch
gained some attention with his personal article "My Life as a Black
Classical Pianist" in which he chronicled the trials and tribulations as well as the joys of being a Black classical musician which caused
a sensation everywhere.
In
the interview he discusses with me the impact his article caused along
with his career and his inspirations among other topics.
Also
on the show (which can be heard locally in the Chicago area on 88.5FM
and livestream anywhere on the station's website on whpk.org 12-3PM
Central US time) will be Schubert's String Quintet D. 956, Liszt's
piano transcription of Berlioz's Symphonie Fantasique and Berlioz's
Herold en Italie.
