Sept. 4, 2019 attended ceremony for Jackie Wilson star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. While Motown mogul Berry Gordy was speaking, I recalled trying to help Jackie Wilson who died 35 years prior. On September 29, 1975, Jackie Wilson was on stage performing "Lonely Teardrops" when he collapsed at a New Jersey nightclub. It was later determined that he had suffered a heart attack or stroke. Wilson went into a coma, from which he never recovered. During Jackie Wilson's disability, I sought to help him recover with a recording by Thelma Houston of his signature "Lonely Teardrops". Jackie Wilson had impressioned me beyond measure during a show i booked at the Limit Night Club in Long Beach. Jackie Wilson road to self destruction was conspicuously obvious to me although his performances were like no other I had ever seen. Berry Gordy co-wrote "Lonely Teardrops". Although, the recording project was completed, the funder did not release the recording. This is an excerpt of Thelma Houston singing "Lonely Teardrops" that Jackie Wilson did not hear or anyone else hear who was not in the studio https://youtu.be/yT4jJwRh4q4. RIP Jackie Wilson
