African American Composer Initiative News: "Tawawa House" Oct. 20, 4 PM

African American Composer Initiative

On Sunday, October 20 at 4 pm, Zenobia Powell Perry’s magnificent opera, Tawawa House, will be presented in San Francisco at the Presidio Chapel. The cast includes AACI singers and pianists, additional soloists, and members of the Sankofa Acting Company of Modesto. Directed and produced by Jeannie Pool and sponsored by the Interfaith Council of the Presidio, the concert is offered to the public free of admission charge, but reservations must be made in advance by phone or email following the instructions on the flyer below. As space is limited and a sell-out is expected, we urge you to make your reservations as soon as possible.

This is a rare opportunity to hear this beautiful, inspiring work based largely on solo and choral spirituals  – a telling of an important chapter in the history of the Underground Railroad. We hope you will be able to join us!

Reservations Required: cell 415-515-5681 or email
mary@interfaith-presidio.org

With best greetings,
LaDoris Cordell, Josephine Gandolfi, and Deanne Tucker, Co-founders, AACI
