Florence B. Price
Samuel Thompson
Capital Philharmonic of New New Jersey
The effort to share the music of Florence Price with a wider audience will advance at the War Memorial theater in Trenton, N.J., on Sunday, Feb. 24, at 4 p.m., when the locally based Capital Philharmonic of New Jersey, founded six years ago, will feature her Violin Concerto No. 1.
The piece, which will feature soloist Samuel Thompson, will be the centerpiece of the orchestra’s “Celebrating Great African-American Composers” program.
