Panion to lead Nashville Symphony Orchestra in Let Freedom Sing on Sunday, January 20, 2019 at 7:00 PM in the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in downtown Nashville. The concert in its 26th year honors the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. The program's featured work is William Grant Still's Symphony No. 1, the Afro-American Symphony. Referred to as the dean of African-American classical composers,  Still's African-American Symphony is one of the most widely performed symphonies by any American composer. The program includes also works by Oscar Peterson, Gale Jones Murphy, Bryson Finney, and Calvin Settles.
