Chi-chi Nwanoku OBE placed at No.9 in the BBC Radio 4 Woman's Hour Power List, which celebrates the Top 40 most successful women having an impact on the music we’re all listening to.

Nigerian- Irish double bass player Professor Chinyere Adah Nwanoku has made the BBC Woman’s Power List. In the list which has the likes of Beyonce and Taylor Swift, she takes the number nine spot.

Chi-chi, as she is popularly called, is the founder of the Chineke Orchestra, the founder of the first professional majority black and minority ethnic (BME) orchestra in Europe.

Chi-chi Nwanoku set up the Chineke! foundation to help support black and minority ethnic musicians in their performing careers, with the orchestra making its debut in 2015. It became a resident ensemble at London's Southbank Centre last year.
