Our
journey as musicians dedicated to presenting and celebrating the music
of African American composers continues with our concerts in January
2017. Please join us for our eighth annual benefit concerts at Eastside
College Preparatory School in East Palo Alto.
The timely theme for the concerts is “Let the Knowing Speak,” where we
will present music born of African American history told in the powerful
language of spirituals, blues, jazz, instrumental music, and song.
Joining our roster of performers this year is distinguished tenor
Othello Jefferson, gifted saxophonist Oscar Pangilinan, and the
marvelous modern dancers of Eastside College Prep.
Returning will be beloved guest composers and artists Dr. Valerie Capers, John Robinson and Joshua McGhee.
Please save the dates: Saturday and Sunday, January 28 and 29, 2017 at 3
pm. Tickets will be available online in December. Spread the word!
Yours in hope, courage, and the power of music,
AACI Co-Founders LaDoris Cordell, Jodi Gandolfi, and Deanne Tucker, along with all the musicians of AACI.
