90-minute PBS Special, THE BLACK COMPOSER (1972), is now available to the
public on location at WGBH and the Library of Congress.
Deemed a
significant creative effort and a historical work, the film (on
videotape) of
this all-black classical music concert has been digitized and preserved
for posterity. Made
before the advent of computers, there has never been another program
like it.
Researchers who are not physically at the Library of Congress or WGBH
can
request a 2-week password protected, limited access link for viewing
online. Thanks be to God for my having lived long enough to see it
again.
