March 8, 2011 AfriClassical posted: “Patrick D. McCoy: 'New Jacqueline Hairston Ensemble Invited to Perform In Famed Carnegie Hall' February 2012.” Today Patrick McCoy tells us:
“The
noted composer and arranger of the spiritual, Jacqueline Hairston was
recently interviewed, discussing the debut of The New Jacqueline
Hairston Ensemble at Carnegie Hall. Comprised of singers from the Bay
Area, Hairston will lead the group in a wonderful program of
spirituals with pianist Byron Sean and numerous guest soloists.
Countertenor Darryl Taylor, soprano Louise Toppin will be the guest
soloists, among others.
