George Augustus Polgreen Bridgetower (1780-1860) is featured at AfriClassical.com on a page researched and written by Prof. Dominique-René de Lerma of Lawrence University Conservatory in Appleton, Wisconsin. Bridgetower is best known as a violin virtuoso, but he also composed some works of his own, including Henry: A Ballad. The work has been arranged for piano quintet by Dominique-René de Lerma. The arrangement has been performed in Germany and England. MMB Music of St. Louis was planning to issue the work, but after a change of ownership of the publishing house, Prof. De Lerma tells AfriClassical.com: “It will now be issued under my own imprint: La Casa Musicale de Lerma.”
