Very little is known about this man of many talents. But you’ll be surprised to know that in Europe and Canada alone, Celso Machado is regarded as one of the world’s best music artists. Born in 1953 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to a family of musicians, Celso Machado is a composer, guitarist, lyricist and singer who began playing the guitar professionally at the age of 16. In 1982, while still living in Brazil, Celso Machado met a French guitarist, Thierry Rougier, who helped him build his career. Celso made his mark internationally the following year, at the Festival of Brazil in London, England where Rougier introduced him to organizers of various guitar festivals.
“With several solo guitar recordings behind him, Celso toured Europe from 1983-1989 before immigrating to Canada. His European tour led to the publication of his sheet music by Editions Henry Lemoine, Paris. As a result, numerous artists have chosen to record his compositions. The highlights of his career however began in 1997 when recording of his CD Varal was nominated for a Juno award in the best Global recording category. His other recordings of Capivara was also a nominee for 2006 in the ‘World Music Album of the Year’ category. Apart from that, Machado has composed sound tracks for several documentary films. His score for the film In the Company of Fear won a Leo Award in 2000 in Canada.”
“So don’t miss this rare opportunity to let world-class artist Celso Machado take you on a passionate and unforgettable journey right here in Kuala Lumpur.
