The National Symphony
Orchestra of Washington D.C. revealed yesterday in their
announcement of their 2021/22 season that in January
2022 its music director Gianandrea Noseda will conduct a
three week music festival of music by African-American
composers George Walker and William Grant Still which
will be paired with Beethoven Symphonies Nos. 1, 4, 5, and 9.
The programs will also
be recorded for release on the NSO's new recording label.
