UWYO.edu: 4 African Dances, Op. 58 of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor included in Free Faculty Virtual Concert Sunday, Feb. 21 at 3 PM Mountain Time

UW Department of Music Faculty Virtual Concert Feb. 21

Six University of Wyoming Department of Music faculty members will present their first spring concert virtually Sunday, Feb. 21.

They will present “From Our Hearts to Yours” at 3 p.m. The free concert can be accessed online at https://youtu.be/quuwlV9i_Xg.

UW faculty performers will be Theresa Bogard, piano; John Fadial, violin; Ben Markley, piano; James Przygocki, viola; Beth Vanderborgh, cello; and David Wharton, trumpet. The program will feature a potpourri of pieces the faculty members hope patrons enjoy in these times of social distancing.

Among the selections to be performed are “Siete Canciones Populares Españolas” by Manuel de Falla; jazz standards “Old Folks” and “We’ll Be Together Again”; works from Rebecca Clarke and Louise Farrenc; and 4 African Dances, Op. 58 by composer Samuel Coleridge-Taylor.
