The ensemble — Garrett Hudson, flute; Emily Tsai, oboe; Julian Hernandez, clarinet; Anni Hochhalter, horn; and Kara LaMoure, bassoon — launched its career by winning two of the most prestigious competitions in chamber music: the Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition in 2012 and the 2016 Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition.
In 2018, they were medalists at the M-Prize Chamber Arts Competition, the same year they appeared as part of the OKM Music festival in Bartlesville.

The concert, which was recorded Feb. 6, will be broadcast at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, and 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 28, on KWTU (88.7 FM), part of Public Radio Tulsa. Resident guest conductor Daniel Hege will conduct the orchestra.
The program will feature the Serenade for Orchestra by William Grant Still, who in 1931 became the first Black American composer to have a symphony performed by a major American orchestra (his Symphony No. 1, “Afro-American Symphony” by the Rochester, N.Y., Philharmonic).
