Aretha Franklin viewing will begin on Aug. 28 at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit, Mich.
The funeral service is set for Aug. 31 at the Greater Grace Temple, and will be limited to Franklin’s family and friends. Los Angeles tribute set for Sept 2 by Deniece Williams during END of SUMMER Music Cultural Celebration presented by 59th district state assemblymember Reggie Jones-Sawyer Sr. at Exposition Park-Christmas Tree Lane (all grass area) in front of Los Angeles Coliseum. Aretha & Niecy have both won Grammy awards in R&B Best Female Performance, Best Gospel Performance, and Best Duo Performance.

END of SUMMER Music Cultural Celebration also includes Grammy winner Poncho Sanchez (with his Latin Jazz band) and an eclectic program of music, dance and FIRST public airing of a rare out of print recording by Maya Angelou of her poetry with jazz interludes by Ed Bland.
