Friends of Wadsworth concert series returns March 12
The local concert series, Friends of Wadsworth, continues to bring
international musical talent to Coweta County after more than two
decades.
On March 12, beginning at 7:30 p.m., the Wadsworth Auditorium,
located at 25 Jefferson St. in downtown Newnan, will host the 2016
Friends of Wadsworth Concert: The Legacy Continues.
The event will include an evening of song and chamber music from
renowned artists Nokuthula Ngwenyama on viola, Wendy Sutter on cello,
Laura Ward on piano and Chee-Yun on violin in addition to Newnan’s own,
and Wadsworth artistic director, Courtenay Budd. Budd, an accomplished
soprano, will be joined in vocals by baritone, Randall Scarlata.

According to a recent press release offered by representatives
of the Wadsworth Auditorium concert series, each performing musician to
appear at the upcoming Friends of Wadsworth Concert will bring a unique
and inspiring talent to the historic Wadsworth stage.
Born in California and of Zimbabwean and Japanese parentage,
Nokuthula Ngwenyama graduated from the Curtis Institute of Music and
attended the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Paris as a
Fulbright scholar. Ngwenyama also received a Master of Theological
Studies degree from Harvard University.
Offering her talent with the viola at the upcoming concert,
Ngwenyama has performed throughout the United States and across four
continents as orchestral soloist, recitalist and chamber musician.
