David Ludwig Trio
Dvořák Piano Quartet in E-flat, Op. 87
After thirty-eight years of
success the world over, the Kalichstein-Laredo-Robinson Trio continues to
dazzle audiences and critics alike with its performances. Since make
making their debut at the White House for President Carter's Inauguration in January 1977, pianist Joseph Kalichstein, violinist
Jamie Laredo and cellist Sharon Robinson have set the standard for
performance of the piano trio literature, consistently bringing
technical mastery, expressive depth, and magnetism to the concert stage.
After winning the Young Artists
International Award and the Primrose International Viola Competition at
the age of 17, Nokuthula Ngwenyama is now the director of the Primrose
Viola Competition and the recipient of an Avery Fisher Career
Grant. Recently featured as a “Face to Watch" in the Los Angeles Times,
her performances as orchestral soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician
garner great attention. Gramophone proclaimed Ms. Ngwenyama’s playing
as providing “solidly shaped music of bold, mesmerizing character," and
the Washington Post described her as playing "with dazzling technique in
the virtuoso fast movements and deep expressiveness in the slow
movements."
