Maestro Kazem Abdullah Assumes Post of 'Generalmusikdirektor of the city of Aachen, Germany' August 1, 2012
By the following Spring, the new General Music Director of Aachen had won praise for a variety of works he had conducted:

Mozart
in minor: an inspirational Dom concert with three funeral music pieces.
Abdullah sets exclamation marks. Three funeral pieces in a row, but they were more enjoyable than some
other secular concerts in beaming major keys. That is on the one hand
because of the miracles in Mozart´s sic and on the other hand because
of the quality of the interpretations, with which Aachen´s general music
director Kazem Abdullah follows up on his success series with the Dom
concert. Such a lucky symbiosis of spiritual expressiveness and musical
details was not always to be heard in the Dom concerts of the past years
23 Apr 2013, Aachener Nachrichten,
Symphony
concert at the Eurogress: Aachen´s Orchestra presents itself in top
form – also with pieces of Alban Berg With standing ovations thanked the
audience of the fifth Symphony concert in the well-visited Eurogress
for an all-around successful interpretation of Mahler´s fifth symphony.
It was a grandiose debut for Kazem Abdullah as Mahler conductor
08 Apr 2013, Die Deutsche Bühne, The clarity of the staging finds its delightful equivalence in the
fresh conducting of the GMD Kazem Abdullah. He clearly demonstrates the
darkness of the score, the dominance of the subtle and diverse dark
colors of the celli and basses, the bass clarinet and trombone, as well
as the somber moments with crying violins
For Spring 2014, Maestro Kazem Abdullah conducts Opéra national de Lorraine, Nancy, in performances of Mozart's La Clemenza di Tito April 29 and May 2, 4, 6 and 8, 2014.
