Oakland Public Conservatory: 'Private lessons & exposure to the masters makes all the difference'

[Vinkya Hunter in private lesson with Steve Turre.] Oakland Public Conservatory Mr. Turre is professor of jazz trombone at the Julliard School of Music in New York City and plays in the Saturday Night Live Band. She receives private lessons from trombone master, Steve Turre, when he is holding master classes at OPC. Fifteen-year-old Vinkya performs with OPC's pre-professional Frederick Douglass Youth Ensemble and attends Oakland School for the Arts.
