Julian Joseph's YouTube Video of 'Deep River' by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor Has Over 10,000 Views

[Julian Joseph]

Jazz Pianist Julian Joseph of the U.K., http://www.julianjoseph.com/, posted this YouTube video (3:34) on May 31, 2008. It has since been viewed more than 10,000 times:

“Solo Piano 'Deep River" from Samuel Coleridge Taylor's 24 Negro Melodies. “Excerpt from 'Keep me from sinking down' The Life and legacy of Samuel Coleridge Taylor.”

Samuel Coleridge-Taylor (1875-1912) was an Afro-British composer, conductor and professor who is profiled at AfriClassical.com. He was a collaborator of the African American poet and author Paul Laurence Dunbar, and was an early advocate of Pan-Africanism. A steady stream of recordings is making his large body of works available to listeners after a long period in which his recordings and sheet music were hard to find. Many of the CDs are listed at the website.
