Join LonGar Ebony Symphony Orchestra (instrumentalists are classically trained Afro-Americans) and soloists on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, 8:00 p.m. The orchestra will perform an exciting concert featuring Dr. Julius Williams, conductor and composer <http://www.juliuspwilliams.com>; Kenneth Harris, Sr, conductor and composer; the First Afro-American 12-Viola Ensemble; Octogenarian soprano Roberta Long; Richard Alston, pianist; with works of Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson, Aaron Copland, Raymond Luis Rosario, Aaron Copland; and An African Response.
LonGar Ebony has performed as chamber ensembles, individual soloists, opera company musicians, back-up on recordings, television programs and in public school music and art demonstration workshops. Plans are being finalized for a Panama/South American Music Festival featuring LonGar's artists.
