Thomas Wilkins Conducts Saxophonist Branford Marsalis and Detroit Symphony Orchestra Dec. 2-4

In its first full season after a lengthy labor dispute, the Detroit Symphony Orchestra has chosen its former Resident Conductor Thomas Wilkins, who now conducts in Omaha, Hollywood and Boston, to conduct saxophonist Branford Marsalis and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra in a concert of Bartok's Romanian Folk Dances, Glazunov's Concerto for Alto Saxophone, Schulhoff's Hot-Sonate and Beethoven's Symphony No. 7. The concert will be presented three times: Friday morning, Dec. 2, Saturday evening, Dec. 3 and Sunday afternoon, Dec. 4.
