Eric Conway: James Lee premiered work with National Symphony Orchestra commemorating 9/11

Dr. James Lee III

Dr. Eric Conway writes:

Last year, the National Symphony Orchestra at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts commissioned Morgan Faculty member Dr. James Lee to compose a new work that would commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11. This work was entitled An Engraved American Mourning was supposed to be a part of a European tour for the NSO that would have been performed in Paris, Dresden, Prague, and two other cities. The Pandemic crisis postponed those plans and instead of a world premiere in the U.S. and Europe, this year the piece was performed in Washington, D.C. at Kennedy Center on  last Friday, September 10, 2021  at 7:30 p.m.  See link below to the posting of the concert.

Again, Dr. James Lee represents Morgan well on a national stage!  Congratulations, Dr. Lee!
