Dear ASALH Member and Friends:
You
are cordially invited to attend the birthday commemoration of our
founder, Carter G. Woodson at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 17, at a
special location.
The annual Carter G. Woodson Birthday commemoration will be held at the Friendship Armstrong School - 1400 First St. NE, Washington, D.C. 20001. Dr. Woodson served as principal of Armstrong School from 1918 to 1919. Please feel free to invite your friends and family to share in this celebration. In order to accommodate the participation of the students from the Armstrong School our commemoration will be held on December 17 instead of December 19, Dr. Woodson's birthday. Join us with our partners the National Park Service and Omega Psi Phi Fraternity for a wonderful program.
The school has parking, so this will be a convenient location for all who attend.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information about the National Park Service Carter G. Woodson Home Site, please click here.
I hope to see you there. Sincerely,
Sylvia Cyrus
