AfriClassical first wrote of Sodi Braide, who was born in England on June 14, 1975 to parents of Nigerian descent, in the blog's early months of existence, when he was living in France, on September 24, 2007:
Sergio A. Mims first played the Franck CD on WHPK-FM in 2008. He sends us excerpts from music reviews of the Schubert disc, as well as a link to Presto Classical,
which sells the CD to purchasers in the U.S. for $18.00 U.S.:
Pianist Sodi Braide has a new recording of Schubert piano works on the Solstice label.
BBC Music Magazine said about it:
“Airy, assured pianism, and a sure feeling for Schubert's emotional world.”

Gramophone Magazine's review (August 2015) said:
"Without
recourse to idiosyncrasy or preening mannerisms everything is made
movingly unfamiliar...Braide strong but forced eloquence and integrity
exceed the playing of many other celebrated names. Always he allows
Schubert his own unimpeded voice. The performance of the Impromptus are
of similar caliber. Braide was born to play Schubert and, I suspect,
much else besides"

A cosmopolitan artist influenced by numerous cultures, Sodi Braide likes
to explore a large repertoire, of different styles and periods. Born of
Nigerian parents in Newcastle (United Kingdom), Sodi Braide started
playing the piano at the age of 3 in Dublin, Ireland. He continued his
musical studies in Nigeria and then in France, at the Conservatoire
National Supérieur, Paris with Jacques Rouvier and Gerard Fremy, and at
the Ecole Normale, Paris with Françoise Thinat.
